Mary Love Dance Projects: Festival Selections
Join Mary Love Dance Projects for their upcoming Festival Selections: an evening of Mary Love Dance Projects works. Mary Love Dance Projects is an artist in residence at the Center for Contemporary Dance. The company’s mission is to reinterpret classical dance through choreographic innovation, multi-media works, and classically trained professional dancers. Learn more about Festival Selections.

FREE Learning Program – Pioneers in Dance: Isadora Duncan
The Center for Contemporary Dance will host “Pioneers in Dance: Isadora Duncan,” a free learning program designed to celebrate one of the foremost pioneers of modern and contemporary dance. The program includes a lecture and dialogue about Duncan’s legacy, led by dance educator Mary Love Ward, Artistic Director for Mary Love Dance Projects. The program also includes a presentation of Duncan’s filmed works and an all-level movement component wherein participants will learn basic, Duncan-inspired choreography. Learn more.

Coby Project: Instrumental Irrationality
Hosted by The Center for Contemporary Dance as part of the Works-in-Process Series, Coby Project’s Instrumental Irrationality debuts under the artistic direction of Nikki Peña and features of cast of 11 dancers with live music accompaniment by percussionist and music producer Tom Infande. The Works-in-Process Series allows audiences to discover more about what motivates the creative process and become acquainted with some of the area’s finest dance artists. Instrumental Irrationality is a film and live dance series that asks performers to improvise their way through public and private spaces from an inefficient point of view. Set against site-specific filmed works featuring the Company, selections undo all commitments to efficiency and progress as dancers are challenged by atypical and unanticipated approaches to interacting with their surroundings.
