The Center for Contemporary Dance is offering a Spring Dance Intensive during the Orange County spring break, designed to “advance the artistic and technical skills of serious-minded dancers ages 7-10 with at least 1.5 years of training and experienced dancers ages 11-16 with 5+ years of training.”
Classes in the Intensive program will be focused on the following skills: leaps/turns, technical refinement, performance/theatrical ability and expansion of movement vocabulary. The session ends with an in-studio presentation of jazz choreography and demonstrations in ballet and modern. Learn more & view schedule.
Why participate in a Spring Intensive? This is an excellent opportunity for young dance students to have an uninterrupted training semester while intensively focusing on specific skills.
It’s also good practice/preparation for students who are attending or considering a summer intensive program. Think of it as a practice run. Not only will you be working on specific skills and technique, you’ll also learn (through the experience) how to take a day’s worth of classes and if that schedule is something you’d want to commit to for a summer program, which are typically much bigger obligations.
Monday, March 24 through Friday, March 28*
*Final showcase takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28
