If you have been considering a gift to an arts program, The Center for Contemporary Dance has an awesome opportunity to double it! One of CCD’s longtime private donors has agreed to match all donations up to $10,000 in support of the organization’s 2015 School Residencies and Student Performances in African Dance.

Master Teacher Dr. Margo Blake and Artistic Director Dario J. Moore lead school residencies in African dance for 350 at-risk youth from Central Florida Title I public schools. Donations supporting the residencies will be matched dollar for dollar through October 25, 2014.

These 15-week African dance residency programs give 350 at-risk students from 6 Central Florida Title I public schools the opportunity to learn and then perform alongside 25 professionals in a fully-realized African dance performance. The performance debuts in December 2015 at Orlando’s Bob Carr Performing Arts Center.

These programs are delivered in partnership with the New York City’s National Dance Institute (NDI) and include guest artists, like dance legend and NDI founder Jacques d’Amboise, and additional activities involving school-wide curriculum explorations in the culture, people and history of Africa.

The donation match is in effect until October 25, 2014, so act quickly to double your gift!
