Ongoing auditions for The Center for Contemporary Dance’s Classical Ballet and Modern Ensembles are now being held. Selected dancers will perform locally and regionally as part of CCD’s Performance Studies Program sponsored by the school.
Space in the Performance Ensembles is limited and preference will be given to dancers who register in advance for classes at the School.
Who can audition?
Dancers ages 11-17 must have 3 or more years of continuous training in ballet and/or modern; students ages 8-10 must have at least 1 year of continuous training in ballet and/or modern.
How can I audition?
Auditions take place The Center for Contemporary Dance, located at 3580 Aloma Ave. #7, Winter Park, FL 32792. A $10 audition fee is required and may be paid in advance by calling (407) 695-8366. Payment can also be made in person on the day of the audition.
The audition schedule is as follows:
- Ballet Ensemble
Ages 8-10: Mondays, 5:00 – 6:30 pm
Ages 11-17 : Tuesdays, 5:00 – 6:30 pm
- Modern Ensemble
Ages 8-10: Mondays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Ages 11-17: Tuesdays, 7:30 – 9:00 pm

What should I wear?
- Ballet Ensemble: All auditioning female dancers should wear pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and a sleeveless black leotard (no skirt); no jewelry is permitted and hair must be pulled up and away from the face. Female dancers with pointe experience should also bring pointe shoes. Male dancers wear black tights/bike shorts and a form-fitting black t-shirt with black ballet shoes.
- Modern Ensemble: All candidates should wear form-fitting black dance attire. Footwear is not required.
